Hello guests and welcome to Wild Palm St John!
We know you will love this island! We also know that Wild Palm St John glamping will give you an island experience that you won’t find anywhere else!
We know how special this island is, as we’ve been coming here for several decades. From the stunning beaches to the crystal clean turquoise waters, to the Virgin Islands National Park to the awesome hiking, amazing community and important history, this 9 x 12 mile island is one-of-a-kind.
Building a home and/or a business on this island has many adventures all its own. Some years ago, we found a small home that needed remodeled, and spent several years turning it into an island showpiece (while also weathering the impact of Irma and Maria from afar). We sold that property in 2021.
When we first saw the Wild Palm property, we loved the views, breezes, and the botanical garden feel, especially the wild palms!
Once we learned about glamping, we felt it was a perfect fit for this property.
We are fortunate to have had plenty of close, quality family time staying with our two kids and our dog in our vintage 23′ RV on the island.
We swim, paddle board, hike, and snorkel together.
Our kids, now 17 and 19, have even worked part-time during the busy seasons at a local island restaurant (If your barista, bus person or server says they are here with their parents who have a glamping business, that’s us!)
We live full-time in Tabernash, Colorado, near Winter Park Resort, one of Colorado’s major ski resorts (we get over 300 inches of snow a year)!
We own a design/build/maintenance landscape company and Melanie is a freelance writer/photographer.
